Located in West Africa, in the north-west of the Republic of Benin within the Atacora Department, the Pendjari National Park is one of the region’s dream destinations. In an atmosphere of peace and political stability, it offers a variety of tourist attractions whose reputation extends beyond national borders. Together with the Pendjari and Atacora hunting zones, Pendjari National Park forms the Pendjari Biosphere Reserve (PBR), whose management takes into account the presence and participation of local communities living around the reserve.

The park is fed by a dynamic river system, characterized by extensive adjacent floodplains. The diversity of vegetation forms a mosaic representing more than ten different plant formations. The area is home to a wide range of mammals, endemic fish species, reptiles, birds, and rare or endangered species. Surrounding the site are communities with rich cultural diversity. These communities play a significant role in the management of the site and benefit from an equitable sharing of the economic and financial benefits generated by the reserve.
