Role of the Grant Allocation Committee (GAC)

The Grant Allocation Committee (GAC) is responsible for evaluating the eligibility of applicants and their funding requests submitted for financing through FSOA resources.

Composition of the GAC

The GAC is composed of: Two or three members of the FSOA Board of Directors; The Executive Director; The Executive Director’s advisors; Additional experts, when necessary, depending on the complexity of the funding requests under review. The Committee ensures that at least one conservation expert is part of its composition.

Functioning of the GAC

The Committee meets at least twice a year (one month before the first and last Board meetings of the year) to provide a consultative opinion to the Board of Directors. It also defines the annual grant program, based on the priorities adopted and the funding amounts allocated by the Board of Directors for the grant-making period.
